The 2018 Solar Masterclass Series provides a one-stop shop for solar designers and installers to get expert advice on the major design and installation issues currently facing the industry. Attendance is free and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points will be available to eligible installers who scan into each session.

Come along to hear important updates from the Clean Energy Regulator, get all the latest information about Australian Standards and find out more about the current endeavours in accreditation. Then we dust off the crystal ball to give some insights into what the future of accreditation and installation may hold.

STREAM 1: Protecting Small Business

This session will discuss the issues faced by small businesses in the ever-changing solar industry. Find out where you and your business stand and discover practical solutions to the common problems faced by small business owners.

STREAM 2: Inverter Face Off

Venue: Solar Masterclass Theatre 1

Representatives from four inverter manufacturers will sell the benefits and capabilities of their inverters, before answering questions from the floor.

The growth in system sizes and the increasing importance of long-term reliability have changed the way that businesses make purchasing decisions. In this session, experts in the analysis and testing of PV modules, inverters and batteries will give you valuable insight into the products that you are purchasing and the limitations of relying on datasheets.

STREAM 2: Monitoring face off

Representatives from four monitoring options will sell the benefits and capabilities of their monitoring products, before answering questions from the floor.

STREAM 1: Protecting the consumer

While the strong growth in the rooftop solar sector has brought significant benefits for solar businesses and consumers, it has also attracted unscrupulous operators with dishonest business practices that can harm the reputation of the industry. In this session, consumer protection experts will speak about some of the scams to watch out for and how you can protect consumers when working with or selling solar PV.

STREAM 2: Learnings from projects

Venue: Solar Masterclass Theatre 1

Distribution networks have been running various trials throughout Australia to find out more about the capabilities of energy storage. In this session, representatives from a number of these distribution networks will share their learnings from these trials.

Grab yourself a drink and have one-on-one discussions with CEC staff members from the tech, admin, products, Approved Solar Retailer and membership teams in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.



As part of the Clean Energy Council’s commitment to encourage women in the renewable energy sector to take on leadership roles, All-Energy Australia 2018 will host the Women in Renewables lunch, to recognise and connect the many talented women in the industry.

Join us for networking and drinks to celebrate the fantastic work that is being done across the industry, culminating in the presentation of this year’s Solar Design and Installation Awards.
